Local historian, Una Walsh, from Ring of Gullion, visited Primary 7 to deliver a programme on townlands and local history. The project aims to raise awareness about the townlands in South Armagh, their history, their meaning and why they are important.
The children were very engaged in learning about this; and using maps, were keen to find out which townland they live in. Una captured their imaginations with local myths and legends and captivated both the children and staff with her local knowledge and a very enjoyable morning was had by all.
