25th Anniversary Celebrations
On Tuesday 29th November 2022 our school, St Monnina’s, celebrated 25 wonderful years on our Chancellor’s Road site. Our celebrations began with a beautiful mass in Sacred Heart Church, Cloughoge. (Cloghogue) Archbishop Eamon Martin led the mass assisted by Fr Naughton PP and Fr Clyne. Members of our school community, including staff and pupils both past and present, participated in the mass and our amazing school choir, led by Miss Rafferty, brought a smile to everyone’s face. A highlight of the mass was hearing our new school hymn ‘St. Moninna’s Call’ performed for the first time by our choir.
After mass, the celebrations continued in school where all present were invited to share in a beautiful afternoon tea with a chance to reminisce about school life both past and present, by looking back at old photos, videos and memorabilia and catching up with former colleagues.
In school, on Friday, our current St. Moninna’s pupils marked the occasion with a class party which included a piece of delicious cake. Each child also was presented with a special commemorative pencil (FS/KS1) or pen (KS2.)
We hope you enjoy looking at the many photos taken to mark this special occasion. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Archbishop Eamon and the many people who helped to organise our celebrations. Here’s to the next 25 years!
